MOTORGUIDE SPONSORS THE 2020 BIG BASS ZONE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AGAIN

Lowell, Mich. (January 27, 2020) – MotorGuide continues its sponsorship of the 2020 Big Bass Zone (BBZ) Junior Championship to help inspire more youth bass fishing activity. The BBZ Junior Championship is an online tournament for anglers ages 13 to 19 from all over the country. In 2019, young anglers from 42 states competed for more than $370,000 in prizes and scholarships, closing out an incredibly successful inaugural year.

The BBZ Junior Championship allows young competitors to fish from anywhere in the country on their schedule. There is no need for expensive equipment either, since the only requirement is a camera or phone and an email address to register their catch online.

“At MotorGuide, we believe developing the next generation of anglers is crucial to wildlife conservation and growing the sport of bass fishing,” said Sam Carlisle, Retail Sales Manager. “These young anglers competing in the 2020 BBZ Junior Championship will inspire future innovations in our field.  And in a world dominated by technology, getting young people outdoors is more important than ever.”

To participate, anglers can register online at bbzworld.com. Registration fees are $25 for a single state or $50 to fish nationally in any state, except Alaska. Once a bass is caught, the angler takes a photo of the fish on an official ruler (both length and girth) and submits the catch online. The angler that catches the largest fish in his or her state by August 1, 2020 will qualify for a championship event to be held Oct. 2-3 at the Willows Club by Anglers Inn International in Priest River, Idaho with competition on the Pend Oreille River.

More than $300,000 in prizes and scholarships, including a Grand Prize Package with a new Bass Cat powered by a Mercury ProXS outboard, MotorGuide Tour Pro trolling motor, and Lowrance electronics, will be awarded.

“We are very excited about the platform and opportunities the BBZ Junior Championship provides to young anglers,” said Carlisle. “We’re so glad to have the opportunity to participate in something new and up and coming that’s focused on the angler. It’s huge for us.”
